The Manager PCS Controls Team (m/f/d) will be leading a team of SW Development Engineers for PCS Controls and directly involved in the product development of utility scale energy storage solutions.
Main responsibilities are:
· Coaching and mentorship of a team of SW and test engineers, based in several Fluence locations.
· Setting goals and objectives for the team members, overseeing and facilitating progress, conducting performance reviews
· Preparing and continuous monitoring of budget estimates to support programs for development and sustaining engineering of PCS Controls.
· Establish best practices for development, verification, and documentation of controls SW (including test automation and test documentation).
· Together with the team, test, analyze and validate, as well as elaborate and implement PCS controls solutions to address innovative application requirements in the battery energy storage systems.
· It is expected that you a key player in the qualification and hands-on development of PCS software, especially grid-forming controls.
· Collaborate with Product and Program Management, Engineering Teams, and Test Facilities to establish and optimize a framework for collaboration and processes across the functions.
· Ensure coverage of the needs for technical expertise in PCS controls validation and development, which includes ideation of new functionalities, capturing grid code requirements, implementing test cases, development of the controls architecture, implementation of functions, verification in the HIL and full test setup, collaboration with internal and external partners.
· Work with inverter OEM’s and internal development teams on test requirements and test reports to ensure proper functionality of the SW and smooth integration of the controls with the inverter HW

· Familiarity with operation and application of PCS used for integration of renewable energy resources in power grids.
· Hands-on experience with PCS SW development and validation
· Knowledge of related utility grid interconnection standards and regional grid codes
· Familiarity with utility scale systems control and monitoring is a plus
· Familiarity with grid-forming operating modes and applications is a strong plus
· Knowledge of or history working with major component OEMs in the solar or battery storage industry
· Excellent English verbal and writing skills; German language skills is a plus
· Willing and able to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 10% of the time
