We are looking for a Public Policy Technical Manager to join our Legal team ideally located in Washington, DC, reporting to the head of Global Public Policy and Strategy. In this role, you will execute the company’s goals on key Infoblox public policy priorities. As a key member of our government affairs team, you will play a critical role in shaping regulatory actions in important markets in the United States and worldwide. You will also be responsible for analyzing the impact of government regulatory actions, policies, standards, and other technical documents, and shaping these actions to advance Infoblox’s strategic objectives. This position requires proactive identification of and responses to proposed regulations, standards, or technical documents, as well as establishing relationships with global regulators and other government officials, trade associations, standards bodies, and other relevant leaders.  

You are the ideal candidate if you are passionate about public policy and have a strong understanding of DNS infrastructure. You are adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving policy environment, and have a proven ability to effectively navigate and influence government environments.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Identify, review, and analyze government regulations, standards, and technical documents 
  • Provide Infoblox’s perspective and feedback to government agencies and international standards bodies 
  • Collaborate with the head of Global Public Policy and Strategy to develop and execute public policy strategies 
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with key officials at government agencies in the U.S., such as NIST and CISA, and worldwide, such as ENISA, and at international standards bodies 
  • Monitor and report on policy developments that impact Infoblox and its customers 
  • Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and other advocacy materials 
  • Represent Infoblox in industry associations, policy forums, and public engagements 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred 
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant IT networking and security experience with a strong understanding of DNS infrastructure 
  • Minimum 4 years of strategic experience working with government regulators and standards bodies, with a documented history of influencing international standards or regulatory frameworks 
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate and influence governmental environments, with a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in governments and standards bodies 
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills and ability to anticipate policy shifts and position the company advantageously 
  • Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving policy environment 

What success looks like:  

After six months, you will... 

  • Develop a solid understanding of Infoblox’s products and services, and public policy strategic objectives 
  • Establish relationships with key officials at government agencies and international standards bodies and effectively represent Infoblox in policy forums and public engagements, reinforcing our standing as a cybersecurity thought leader 
  • Build a strong internal network of cross-functional stakeholders in Infoblox, including Public Sector Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering 
  • Contribute to the development of public policy strategies, and contribute to advocacy efforts that shape regulatory actions aligned to Infoblox strategic objectives 

After about a year, you will... 

  • Deliver measurable outcomes from public policy strategies and deepen relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Maintain strategic foresight in anticipating regulatory and standards-based policy shifts, ensuring adaptability of products and strategy 
  • Drive advocacy efforts that shape regulatory actions and policy decisions aligned to Infoblox strategic objectives 
  • Cultivate and maintain ongoing, high-level relationships with key government officials and regulators, making Infoblox their trusted advisor on DNS and cybersecurity policy issues

You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to the location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education, and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position in Washington, D.C. is $119,600 - $180,290 plus corporate bonus potential.
