Job Description

Miniclip is seeking a QA Engineer (Games Tester focused on automation and tools development) to join our Game Development Studio in Tagus Park (Oeiras, Portugal).

This is a full-time, permanent, and hybrid position. 

What will you be doing at Miniclip?

As a member of the QA team, your primary responsibility is to ensure the quality of all product releases. Key duties include:

  • Developing test automation scripts and tools to support game releases and updates, scheduling tasks to ensure quality assurance and testing activities are completed within competitive time-to-market constraints.
  • Planning and defining an automation testing roadmap based on ROI to continually reduce the need for manual work and minimise the risk of regressions with each game release or update.
  • Monitoring regression test automation results, identifying and reporting issues, and taking action to address and improve on any detected problems.
  • Acting as a quality liaison between development teams, producers, and all internal teams involved in product releases.
  • Creating and maintaining clear, insightful test automation documentation to ensure visibility into tools, automation processes, and pipeline flows.
  • Reviewing game statistics, customer feedback, and competitor products to continuously refine assumptions and adjust quality assurance and testing approaches.
  • Playing a key role within the studio's team by defining new test automation approaches and proposing innovative ideas to enhance quality assessment, automation processes, and procedures.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a social, hardworking individual who enjoys collaborating within a team and is passionate and dedicated to their work. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in the following areas:

  • Self-motivation with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex issues in game development projects.
  • Confidence in exploring new approaches and communicating effectively with different teams and departments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Curiosity and insight into current best practices in testing and quality assurance.
  • Technical knowledge of a wide range of physical devices from different manufacturers (e.g., Apple, Samsung) and operating systems (iOS, Android).
  • At least 3 years of experience in QA and testing within the gaming and/or entertainment industries.
  • BA or BSc degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Lua skills are a plus).
  • Good knowledge of software tools for CI/CD workflow automation (e.g., Jenkins).
