Craft:
Data, Analytics & StrategyJob Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join the central Candy Analytics team. In this role, you will drive methodological advancements, advocate for a robust experimentation culture, and influence strategic decision-making across the organization. You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge statistical research and business impact, ensuring experimentation frameworks are rigorous, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
As a senior member of the team, you will lead research into advanced statistical methodologies, champion best practices in experimental design, and advocate for a data-driven culture across diverse teams. Your role will combine technical leadership and stakeholder management, enabling you to guide both product teams and executives in leveraging data science for innovation.
If you're passionate about enhancing the experience of King’s 300 million+ players and want to lead the evolution of experimentation and statistical methodologies, this is the perfect role for you. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of data scientists, engineers, and business leaders to implement scalable statistical techniques and influence decision-making at all levels.
Driving Innovation in Statistical Methodologies: Lead research into Bayesian inference, causal inference, adaptive experimentation, and sequential testing to refine and optimize our experimentation framework.
Scaling Experimentation Frameworks: Develop and implement statistical methods at scale, ensuring that our A/B testing and multivariate experiments are efficient, reliable, and actionable across multiple products and teams.
Advocating for a Culture of Experimentation: Partner with senior leadership, product teams, and engineers to democratize experimentation and embed data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Enhancing Decision-Making: Apply advanced statistical modeling to experimental data, ensuring rigor in analysis and clear insights for business impact.
Mentoring and Technical Leadership: Guide junior and mid-level data scientists, fostering best practices in statistical analysis and experimentation design.
Collaboration with Engineering and Product Teams: Influence the design and deployment of experimentation platforms by working closely with engineers to ensure seamless data pipelines and tracking mechanisms.
Ensuring Robustness and Accuracy: Develop and implement frameworks for validating, debugging, and interpreting experimental results, mitigating risks such as bias, confounding variables, and sample misrepresentation.
Stakeholder Influence: Work with executive teams to translate complex statistical insights into strategic recommendations, bridging the gap between research and business impact.
You are a technical expert who can balance deep statistical rigor with business pragmatism. You are comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and can communicate complex ideas with clarity.
Must-Have Skills:
Experimentation Expertise: Deep knowledge of A/B testing, multivariate testing, causal inference, and Bayesian methods.
Advanced Statistics: Strong understanding of hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time-series modeling, and hierarchical modeling.
Statistical Computing at Scale: Experience with distributed computing and large-scale experimentation frameworks (e.g., Spark, Databricks, or equivalent platforms).
Programming & Data Manipulation: Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for statistical analysis and model implementation.
Business Impact & Stakeholder Management: Ability to translate technical insights into strategic recommendations for product and executive teams.
Communication & Leadership: Comfortable presenting complex statistical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives.
Experimentation Infrastructure: Experience working with modern experimentation platforms and data pipelines, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
Bonus Skills:
Knowledge of reinforcement learning, adaptive experimentation, and real-time decisioning frameworks.
Experience in causal impact modeling and uplift modeling to measure long-term experiment effects.
Familiarity with machine learning methods for experimentation, such as multi-armed bandits and Thompson sampling.
