Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Senior Styling Director to join our Concept Design team in Nike Global Design. Concept Design is groundbreaking in the defining the future of Nike, bridging the worlds of emerging innovation, athlete insights, product design, and brand storytelling to develop the ideas that will define the brand. Part of Concept Design, the Styling function sits at the heart of this process, delivering the strategy, visual identity, end-in-mind vision for Nike's concepts to reach athletes around the globe. The Senior Styling Director defines the head-to-toe vision for the entire Nike product line across Mens, Womens and Kids to become a distinct head-to-toe look for Nike. Candidates for this role must be collaborative, imaginative, and tactical, as they will turn creative strategy and big ideas into a head-to-toe styling perspective for Nike!

The Senior Styling Director is a dynamic editor, an outstanding leader and a collaborative teammate, focused on both crafting styling direction and the materials and experiences to bring it to life, including presentations, physical spaces, and photoshoots. They are experienced creative leaders and can develop and run a world class styling team, building and communicating styling strategy, as well as illustrating that strategy on-set, in retail environments, or event. They have a passion for fashion and sport and are committed to staying on top of current and future trends in design, creative culture, youth culture and fashion.

As a candidate for this role, you have passion for leading styling for an iconic brand, creative leadership, collaborative energy, and the ability to assimilate a range of cultural, athlete, and business insights into creative strategy, brand identity, and world-building that can guide the entire Nike organization. You are truly a multi-faceted stylist who loves both bold thinking and crafting compelling materials and experiences that bring that thinking to life.

What you will work on

As the Senior Styling Director, you lead the vision for how Nike products come to life for athletes around the world. You'll work directly with the Creative Concept team, merchandising and marketplace teams, product design leaders, consumer insights and brand business leaders and the brand creative teams to see opportunities, build direction, and illustrate how that styling direction can implement at Nike's various touch points, influencing brand campaigns, retail experience, and Nike's digital channels. You and your team's vision will not only influence how the Nike product portfolio comes to life but also how it could be merchandised to all Nike channels!

A given day can consist of big brainstorms, photoshoots, managing sets, inspiration travel, gathering styling insights, mentoring your team, staying connected to current trends or pitching your work to Nike leadership. Along with your team, you will work directly with the Mens, Womens and Kids Concept teams and Styling teams in building the styling perspective for Nike's biggest ideas.

Who you will work with

The Senior Styling Director reports to the VP, Concepts, and works with the Mens/Womens/Kids Creative Directors to define and lead the process for styling. In the day-to-day the Styling Director collaborates with Product Design, Product Merchandising/Marketplace, Creative Concept Directors, and Brand and Retail Marketing counterparts.

What you will bring
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 12 years professional experience in styling, with some experience working in-house at a brand.
  • A passion for the Athlete*, Sport* and Culture.
  • Expertise in all aspects of styling, from
  • Demonstrated experience building styling strategy for brands.
  • Experience leading/inspiring/growing other stylists.
  • Solid portfolio of relevant work, displaying a passion for creative exploration, from the avant-garde to everyday functional styling.
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills; adept at presenting and defending work.
  • Ability to collaborate with and effectively manage external creative partners.
  • Ability to orchestrate collaboration across a network of functions.
  • A positive mentality with proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.
  • Laser-sharp focus to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal resourcefulness with the ability to cultivate cross-functional partnerships and an open, positive and collaborative environment.
  • Highly developed curiosity and in-depth understanding of fashion and youth culture, current and past.
