Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior Engine Programmer to join our team and help shape the foundation of our next-generation AAA experiences on our new IP. 
 
In this role, you will drive innovation and optimize our engine systems and workflows, focusing on performance, scalability, and rapid iteration. You will collaborate closely with engineers and content creators to deliver cutting-edge tools and solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in gaming. 

 

As an individual contributor on the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.   

  
You’ll help us by…  

  • Maintaining and optimizing engine systems with focus on performance and scalability. 

  • Improving our technology stack for next-gen development and future platforms. 

  • Working with stakeholders to translate creative ideas into software. 

  • Collaborate with peers, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence. 

 

You are awesome because you have…  

  • 4+ years as a professional programmer or a combination of education and relevant experience. 

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++, with a solid understanding of 3D math, common data structures, and algorithmic solutions. 

  • Thorough understanding of common data structures and algorithmic solutions. 

  • Expertise in multiple areas such as animation, UI/UX, visual effects, tools, AI, online systems, physics, rendering, vehicles, portability, extensibility, or testability.    

  • In-depth understanding of modular architecture, event-driven systems, design patterns, and object-oriented programming principles.     

  • Ability to work effectively with both internally and externally developed codebases. 

  • A knack for writing clean, readable, portable, reliable, and optimized code. 

  • A proven track record of contributing to one or more shipped AAA games. 

Bonus points for…  

  • Recognition in your field(s) of expertise. 

  • Experience in adjacent disciplines such as quest design, environment art, programming, etc.
