The Senior Financial Analyst I will support business unit and corporate reporting requirements across North America operating units. This role involves collaborating with internal finance team members and business unit clients to facilitate standard management reporting, planning, and analytics across revenue-generating and distribution-oriented business lines, as well as at the corporate level. Responsibilities include preparing business unit reporting, automating processes, developing knowledge of Russell’s products and services, supporting local and corporate reporting, and assisting with ad-hoc assignments and financial presentations. The candidate will also facilitate processes related to the management of financial records, such as revenue/cost allocations and cost center management. This role is based in Mumbai and works closely with global stakeholders to support the technology and infrastructure that drives the investment and trading processes.
Must have:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • 2 - 5 years finance experience in related fields
  • Advanced Excel skills, working with large datasets
  • Developing analytical skills; financial acumen
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
Good to have:
  • Investment management or financial services experience
  • Data visualization and work-flow automation tools

Job Description:

This position's primary purpose is to support and enable business unit and corporate reporting requirements across North America operating units.  By working with internal finance team members and various business unit clients, this role will facilitate the procurement of standard management reporting, planning and analytics across revenue-generating and distribution-oriented business lines, as well as at the corporate level.  The responsibilities of the individual in this position include the following areas:

  • Diligently support and help prepare business unit reporting across a broad array of functions including Go-To-Market and global shared services

  • Seek opportunities to automate processes and find workflow efficiencies across business units

  • Develop foundational knowledge of Russell’s products, services, organizational structure and systems of information

  • Build a knowledge and understanding of the assigned business units

  • Help support local and corporate reporting requirements including AUM and cash flow reporting, group P&Ls, key performance indicators, sales reporting materials, other regular business unit and corporate-level reporting, and analysis

  • Assist with research, reporting and analytical support for ad-hoc assignments, contribute to financial presentations

  • Facilitate, in collaboration with the central finance teams, processes associated with management of financial records, e.g., revenue/cost allocations, maintenance of reporting hierarchies, cost center management

The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline

  • 2 - 5 years finance experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounting, or related fields; investment management or financial services experience a plus

  • Advanced Excel skills, with emphasis on working with large data sets & reporting; data visualization and work-flow automation tools a plus

  • Developing analytical skills; financial acumen 

  • Knowledge of management information and financial reporting systems, such as TM1 and Cognos

  • Highly motivated self-starter; quick learner

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, listening and communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; focused and driven

  • Proven ability to multi-task and work multiple projects simultaneously, deadline oriented

  • Ability to own a task, overcome obstacles, and make a recommendation
