Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior GL Accountant to join our finance team in Milan. In this role, you will focus on managing general ledger functions, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, and supporting the financial reporting process. This is an individual contributor role with opportunities to collaborate globally and advance your expertise.

The role will be a key support to Group legal entities in Irland and UK, however based in Milan.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely postings, reconciliations, and closings.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP and participate to the preparation of reporting pack for Corporate reporting
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal company policies.
• Reconciliations: Conduct reconciliations of accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement enhancements to accounting systems and procedures.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Audit Support: Assist in audits by preparing documentation and addressing queries from auditors.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).
• Experience:
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP in Italy.
• Knowledge of Irish or UK GAAP will be considered a plus
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Oracle, or similar preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Soft Skills:
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communicator with fluency in English and Italian
