Tesla seeks a Senior Legal Counsel for its Nordics region (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland). This role will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, handling legal matters across sales, service, marketing, contracts, consumer protection, regulatory compliance, and the Supercharger business. Responsibilities include drafting/reviewing contracts (real estate, Supercharger), managing regulatory issues, advising on marketing and customer communications, and collaborating with EMEA legal teams and external counsel. The ideal candidate is a qualified Nordic lawyer with 5+ years of experience in law firms or in-house roles, possessing strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

The Senior Legal Counsel, Nordics (or higher seniority) will be part of Tesla’s EMEA legal team working on legal matters in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and other Nordic countries, ranging from sales, service and marketing to commercial contracts, consumer protection and regulatory matters as well as Tesla’s Supercharger business. The focus for this role is to be the trusted advisor for the business leadership in the Nordic countries.  You will specifically support in legal matters related to the service and sales business within Tesla and advise on applicable statutory and consumer protection laws, regulatory matters, marketing and real estate and Supercharger contracts as well as proactively manage outside counsel.

The role can be based in Denmark, Sweden or Norway. Some business travel will be required.

What You’ll Do
  • Be a legal trusted advisor for all Tesla business leads in your region
  • Support all sales and services initiatives (B2C and B2B), including drafting and reviewing terms and conditions, as well as all related legal matters
  • Provide legal advice for marketing of sales initiatives, the Tesla website and other customer communications
  • Draft and review contracts relating to Tesla real estate for showrooms and service centers 
  • Draft and review contracts relating to Tesla’s fast growing Supercharger business incl. support of all other related legal matters 
  • Manage all regulatory matters relating to Tesla products in your regions, build strong relationships with key regulators 
  • Manage all other legal day-to-day work
  • Liaise regularly with your peers in EMEA, the EMEA Litigation team as well as all relevant global team members and stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
  • You are a qualified lawyer in in one of the Nordic countries, with at least 5 years relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house corporate international environment, ideally with a background in being a country/regional lawyer, with an exceptional ability to handle a high workload of complex legal matters at the same time
  • You are a team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, and execute pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions on a timely basis
  • You inspire trust, forge relationships quickly with key stakeholders at all levels, and earn the confidence and cooperation of your business partners
  • You work well both autonomously, collaboratively and transparently, and are effective at juggling and prioritizing competing tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • You possess an entrepreneurial mindset, quick and flexible learner, with high standards, impeccable integrity and ethics, unquestionable good judgment, well-honed analytical skills
  • You have excellent communication skills, with a business level to near native level fluency at least one of the Nordic languages and English (written and spoken).
