They’ve closed their pre-seed funding round with 3x VCs and won several grants from the UK government, giving them close to $1m in funding.
They’re building a tool to allow roto artists to expedite their workflows. Their segmentation tool harnesses AI to automate much of the tedious work. They’re looking for an experienced roto artist to share rotoscoping best practice and help them build a tool that would be helpful for rotoscopers.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Rotoscoping VFX Artist with a strong background in handling complex shots including motion blur, occlusion, and hair. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Nuke, Silhouette, and ideally, Resolve. This role requires a professional who can work independently, devise solutions to compositing challenges, and manage the entire workflow from receiving shots to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality rotoscoping on complex VFX shots, ensuring precise edge definition and seamless integration.
- Handle challenging elements such as motion blur, occlusion, and intricate hair details.
- Utilize Nuke, Silhouette, and Resolve to complete tasks efficiently.
- Develop and implement workflows to streamline the rotoscoping process.
- Collaborate with the compositing team to address and resolve issues.
- Work autonomously to manage and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Innovate and propose solutions to overcome compositing challenges.
- Maintain and organize project files and documentation.
- Provide feedback and mentor junior artists as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Rotoscoping VFX Artist in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in Nuke, Silhouette and Spline; experience with Resolve is a plus.
- Strong understanding of VFX compositing principles and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult shots involving motion blur, occlusion, and hair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
- Portfolio or reel showcasing relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in other areas of VFX such as compositing and matchmoving.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
- Familiarity with other VFX software and tools - Nuke, Silhouette and Spline
- Software Communication - need to be able to understand complex concepts
Work Schedule
As the client is UK-based, you will be required to work in UK daytime:
- Monday to Friday
- 13:30 - 22:30 IST (08:00 am - 17:00 GMT)
