Job Description

ByteDance's database development team is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer with experience in NoSQL databases, specifically DocumentDB. This role will lead the design and development of ByteDance's in-house DocumentDB architecture and optimize its storage engine. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MongoDB or AWS DocumentDB, experience in high-traffic, large-concurrency scenarios, and a passion for cloud-native environments.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields
Proficient in C/C++/Go/Python in Linux
MongoDB/AWS DocumentDB knowledge
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Good to have:

Understanding of cloud service architecture
Experience in high-traffic, large-concurrency scenarios
MongoDB or NoSQL database kernel development experience

Our database development team is responsible for building and owning database products used by TikTok's infrastructure including but not limited to relational databases, distributed cache, key-value stores, document stores, and Graph stores. In this team, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and enhance that NoSQL database service in a cloud-native environment. Responsibilities: - Lead the design and development of ByteDance's in-house DocumentDB architecture. - Optimize the storage engine of ByteDance's DocumentDB.

Qualifications

Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, communication, or related fields. - Proficient in at least one or multiple languages from C/C++/Go/Python in the Linux environment. - Familiar with the principles, architecture, and implementation of MongoDB/AWS DocumentDB. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Understanding of technical challenges in cloud service architecture and corresponding solutions. - Experience in high-traffic, large-concurrency scenarios, with MongoDB or NoSQL database kernel development experience. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $184300 - $389500 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
