Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer will drive product growth and help meet daily active user (DAU) goals for Microsoft Rewards. Responsibilities include end-to-end feature development (ideation to testing), writing high-quality, maintainable code, analyzing feature metrics, seeking process improvements, collaborating with PMs and designers, and fostering an inclusive engineering culture. The role involves working on cutting-edge features and services, impacting millions of consumers daily and leveraging technologies like React, Angular, and various backend technologies. The team works in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.
Must have:
- Full-stack web development experience
- Frontend expertise (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular)
- Experience with enterprise and consumer products
- Proven technical engineering experience
- Production-quality code writing skills
Good to have:
- OOP, TDD, Agile experience
- SQL, NoSQL, Big Data experience
- ASP.NET (or similar) and REST API experience
- Experience shipping online services

Are you looking to work in a fast-paced startup style team impacting the bottom line for Microsoft? On the Microsoft Rewards team, we are responsible for building the differentiated experiences that are delighting millions of consumers every day and accelerating the growth of our online businesses. You will be working on cutting edge enterprise and consumer features and services like account linking that would combine these experiences.
We are currently focused on driving growth of Bing’s daily active user base using Rewards. Microsoft Rewards is the most loved feature on Bing and Xbox, and our mission is to build a loyal user base that spans the entire Microsoft consumer ecosystem (Bing, Xbox, Edge, MSN, Windows and Mobile).

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND proven years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Full stack Web software development experience, implementing cross-browser web applications.
- Expertise in frontend development technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, React, Angular.
- Experience working on enterprise and consumer products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OOP, TDD, and agile development models.
- Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and Big Data technologies.
- Experience building web services using ASP.NET (or similar technologies) and SDKs based on REST APIs, ODATA or JSON.
- Experience shipping online services in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with software development cycle: Design, implementation, deployment, and live site.
- Passion for quality and strong customer empathy.
- Solid problem-solving skills, ability to cultivate positive relationships, and clear communication and coordination skills

Responsibilities
- You will drive product growth and help us deliver on our DAU goals.
- Be able to drive end-to-end feature development from ideation to architecture design to implementation and testing through multiple data driven iterations.
- Write solid production-quality code that is simple, extensible, and maintainable with very few defects.
- Measure and analyze the metrics for the features shipped.
- Seek opportunities in code and processes to improve quality and efficiency.
- Work closely with PM and Designers to create delightful, effective user experiences.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and disciplined software engineering practices to deliver business value, guided by data.
