Senior Software Engineer (Embedded Software)

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Embedded Systems, who loves designing and building innovative hardware and software, wants to make an impact, and enjoys working with creative, intelligent and collaborative teammates. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust modular systems
  • Development of embedded system software
  • Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues at a global scale
  • Document key technical areas and share knowledge through technical presentations

Required Background

  • BS in Computer Science / Software Engineering or 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of combined experience in C/C++/Rust
  • 3+ years of experience in low-level Linux / BSD systems programming
  • Proven track-record of solving ambiguous problems with minimal direction.

Desired Skills

  • Strong debugging / analysis / troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or FreeBSD environment
  • Embedded Systems development using C/C++/Rust

Additional Skills

  • Git version control
  • Experience with storage and computer networking domains
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of Japanese language and culture is a plus

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$172,100 — $258,100 USD
