Job Description

ByteDance is seeking a Senior Technical Lead for its Global Edge Cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on the design, execution, optimization, and exploration of new technologies within the edge cloud environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, deep industry experience, and a proven track record of leading teams in architectural design and technological innovation. Responsibilities include designing highly reliable, scalable, and high-performance systems, mastering multiple technical systems, and leveraging sharp insight into new technologies for project selection and risk assessment. The candidate must be proficient in analyzing and solving complex technical problems and possess a solid understanding of performance optimization methods and strategies. This position requires experience in coding with higher-level languages, familiarity with CDN, load balancing, distributed storage/computing, and public cloud technologies, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills for working within a global team.

Must have:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
Experience in coding with higher-level languages
Proficiency in design & implementation of large-scale systems
Strong problem-solving abilities
Capability to learn, explore, and research

Good to have:

Familiarity with CDN, load balance, distributed storage/computing architecture
Experience in working within a global team

As a senior technical architect, you will participate in the design, execution, problem-solving, performance optimization, and exploration of new technologies pertaining to edge cloud computing, enabling the team to gain technical superiority. Responsibilities : - Having outstanding technical capabilities and deep industry experience to lead the team in technological innovation and architectural design. - Proficiently mastering multiple technical systems to design highly reliable, scalable, and high-performance system architectures. - Having sharp insight into new technologies to rationally select suitable ones for the project and assess technology risks. - Capable of analyzing and solving complex technical problems, providing effective solutions. Familiar with performance optimization methods and strategies to enhance system performance.

Qualifications

Mininum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any equivalent technical field with relevant work experience. - Experience in coding with higher-level languages (such as Python, C++, Go, etc.) and proficiency in learning new languages, technologies, frameworks, and APIs. - Proficient in the design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems or platforms. - Skilled in independent thinking, capable of actively identifying issues, conducting systematic problem analysis, and possessing strong problem-solving abilities. - Possessing the capability to learn, explore, and conduct research in unfamiliar domains. Preferred Qualifications - Familiar with CDN, load balance, distributed storage/computing architecture or other public cloud products and technologies - Experienced in working within a global team and cooperating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic setting with limited oversight. - Focusing on industry technology trends to drive the team to adapt and lead technological changes continuously. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $179200 - $389500 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
