We are seeking a Social Writer to create engaging, fast-paced content that leverages social media virality. You will be responsible for writing 2-4 short-form editorial articles daily (250-600 words), converting viral Facebook posts into companion articles within 12-24 hours, and collaborating with the team to identify trends and pitch reactive pieces. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Facebook virality, excellent editorial judgment, and the ability to write quickly and clearly, maintaining a punchy, accessible, social-first style. Familiarity with Netflix, Marvel, DC, Gaming, Horror, or uplifting human stories is preferred.

  • Past work at meme or publisher-style pages

Role Overview:

We’re hiring a Social Writer to help bridge the gap between what performs on social and what brings value to our owned sites. You’ll be writing fast, punchy, engaging content that lives because of social.

You’ll be working closely with our social and editorial leads to identify viral trends, convert them into clickable, smart articles, and help push traffic to our sites from posts already doing big numbers.

Responsibilities:

  • Write 2–4 short-form editorial articles/day (250–600 words each)

  • Turn viral Facebook posts into companion articles within 12–24 hours

  • Help brainstorm headline + caption pairings that drive both engagement and clicks

  • Collaborate with the team to spot trends early and pitch reactive pieces quickly

  • Maintain our house style: punchy, accessible, social-first

  • Strong editorial judgment: you know what to cover, how to frame it, and how to hook a reader fast

  • Excellent headline and caption instincts

  • Ability to write quickly without sacrificing clarity or tone

  • Familiarity with our core verticals: Netflix, Marvel, DC, Gaming, Horror, and/or uplifting human stories

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in a social or viral newsroom

  • Comfort using Meta Creator Studio and/or basic WordPress tools

  • Past work at meme or publisher-style pages (think: Bored Panda, The Dipp, UNILAD, LADbible, etc.)
