Job Description

This Software Engineer II role focuses on EasySaaS Reliability and Scalability at Google. Responsibilities include designing and implementing systems for building reliable and scalable applications, enabling easy sharding and replication. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience across Google platforms. The role also involves contributing to the architecture supporting seamless service integration across diverse cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience with software development (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript), data structures/algorithms, and building/developing infrastructure or distributed systems. Preferred qualifications include platform engineering experience, cloud application development, and familiarity with Google's tools and SRE practices.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
1+ year software development experience
1+ year experience with data structures/algorithms
1+ year experience building distributed systems
Design and implement scalable systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Good to have:

Platform engineering experience
Cloud application development experience
Experience with Go, Java, or C++
Understanding of SRE practices (SLO/SLI)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
1 year of experience building and developing infrastructure or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in platform engineering.
Experience in developing and designing cloud-based applications and services, with a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
Experience with building scalable systems and has a strong background in software development, with proficiency in languages and tools used at Google (e.g., Go, Java, C++).
Good understanding about SRE practices - SLO/SLI and reliability aspects of large-scale service.

Responsibilities

Design and implement systems that enables users to build reliable and scalable aplication by making it easy to shard and replicate their applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our platform provides a consistent and high-quality experience across all Google platforms, from internal systems (like Borg) to external cloud environments (GCP, GDC, and others).
Contribute to the architecture that supports seamless integration of services running on diverse cloud platforms.
