Job Description

As a Software Engineer II, Front End, Payments, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the front-end of Google's payment systems. You will work on a variety of projects, including developing new features, improving existing features, and fixing bugs. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the front-end of the payment systems is secure, reliable, and performant. You will participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and contribute to documentation. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues and resolving bugs. You will collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and designers to develop and deliver innovative payment solutions.

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
1 year of experience with software development
1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms
Experience with front-end frameworks
Experience developing accessible technologies

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
1 year of experience with full-stack development and/or API development

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Javascript).
1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
1 year of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, and/or API development.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
