Microsoft Advertising Platform team seeks a Software Engineer II - Frontend to build marketing solutions for next-generation e-commerce. The role involves designing and developing high-scale modern services, apps, and integration solutions, focusing on innovative user experiences. Responsibilities include designing, building, testing, debugging, and shipping high-quality features used by thousands of advertisers globally. The successful candidate will ensure uninterrupted operation of features in production, analyze business requirements and customer feedback, collaborate across teams, and work with hundreds of terabytes of data using Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. The position requires strong problem-solving and debugging skills, experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Agile/DevOps methodologies.

In the Microsoft Advertising Platform team, we are building the marketing solutions for the next generation of e-commerce. Our platform helps advertisers and retailers implement, automate, and scale their marketing programs across the internet. We work on hundreds of terabytes of data using the latest Microsoft cloud infrastructure, have a very strong focus on customer satisfaction, and leverage data driven metrics to delight our customers. This is a formidable opportunity to join Microsoft Ads, as a Software Engineer II - Frontend, and work on one of the most highly distributed computing systems and be part of a fast-growing business.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in any of these languages - C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 2+ Experience with modern client-side/web technologies such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Webpack, Node.js or similar.
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps development methodologies.
  • English proficiency on a business level. 
  • A strong team player and collaborator, across time zones and diverse stakeholder

Other Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms.
  • Prior experience in online search/ads products.
  • Experience with technical design, problem solving and debugging skills, proven track record in shipping software on time, with high quality.
  • Experience and success in working with ambiguity and taking risks.
