Job Overview:

We’re looking for a talented, creative, and collaborative leader to join our Data team as a Sr. Manager of Machine Learning  reporting to the Director of Machine learning,  to lead our Core Machine Learning  group. This leader is expected to lead the development of state of the art ML/AI models supporting applications in growth, optimization, recommendation, search ranking, retention and ML Engineering for all Coursera’s business lines of Consumer, Degrees and Enterprise.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a high-performing team of ML Scientists responsible for prototyping/delivering ML/AI solutions which drive meaningful business impact across all business lines at Coursera.
• Partner with Product, Marketing and Engineering stakeholders to identify and prioritize ML/AI solutions that can deliver business impact and improved customer experience.
• Lead the ML Engineering team to deploy high performing and scalable ML/AI models in the production system.
• Build a strong working relationship with all stakeholders across different business lines and increase your influence by building trust and delivering high quality models.
• Provide technical and non-technical mentorship and help the professional development of team members, particularly your direct reports

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industrial experience in the domains of Machine Learning and/or Machine Learning Engineering with 2+ years of management experience 

• Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and stakeholders on complex business topics
• Completing multiple machine learning projects end-to-end from idea generation, objectives formulation, to implementation and deliverables
• Exceptional technical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a matrixed environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, engineering, operation research or other related fields
• Ability to do hands-on modeling work if needed
