Job Description

Tesla seeks a Sr. Quality Technician to ensure their vehicles meet the highest safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include problem-solving using methodologies like A3, 8D, and Six Sigma; conducting root cause analyses; monitoring KPIs; leading projects; collaborating with various teams (Operations, Production, Maintenance); and understanding Tesla's production processes. The role requires a strong engineering background, analytical skills, and proficiency in quality tools. Experience in General Assembly technology and automotive manufacturing is a plus.
Good To Have:
  • Project Management experience (PMP, Agile)
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, SQL, Python
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's/Master's in relevant engineering
  • Analytical mindset & engineering principles

  • Problem-solving & root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English & German (advantage)

What You’ll Do
  • Solving technical challenges by leading and supporting the problem-solving process, utilizing methodologies such as A3, 8D Methodology, Six Sigma, and Shainin.
  • Implementing precise containment actions, conducting in-depth root cause analyses (utilizing methods like 5-Why, Ishikawa), and executing corrective and preventive measures as required.
  • Extracting meaningful insights and driving actions from production data, process parameters, and their correlation to identified problems.
  • Contributing to the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators for the Quality team and spearheading initiatives to achieve established goals.
  • Taking the lead on special tasks, projects, and programs within the General Assembly Quality Engineering team.
  • Establishing and fortifying relationships with teams in Operations, Production, Maintenance, Process, and Control within the General Assembly department.
  • Developing an understanding of the key responsibilities and impact of Quality Engineering as a function within the company.
  • Gaining insights into Tesla's operations, Technology, and Production processes.

This role provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping the quality landscape within Tesla and delving into the intricacies of our cutting-edge technology and production methodologies.

What You’ll Bring
  • Fluency in English and German is a significant advantage.
  • Pursuing or having completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a focus on Mechanics, Electronics, or Chemistry (e.g., quality management, process engineering, production engineering, industrial engineering).
  • An analytical mindset and a solid foundation in engineering principles.
  • A basic understanding and overview of Quality tools such as A3, 8D, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, and familiarity with Quality Management standards like ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • A self-starting attitude, driven to tackle the most critical problems.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Bonus points for engaging in extracurricular activities (Formula Student, Erasmus Exchange, Internship Experience).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Project Management experience is a plus (PMP, Agile).
  • Additional plus points for experience in JIRA, Confluence, and coding (SQL, Python).
