Job Description

The Travel and Expense Accountant will oversee and optimize travel and expense-related financial activities. Responsibilities include managing employee travel expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies, and contributing to efficient expense management processes. This involves reviewing and processing expense reports, tracking and managing corporate credit card expenses, verifying receipts, and analyzing data for cost-saving opportunities. The role also requires communication and enforcement of policies and collaboration with department heads. Must have:
  • 2+ years of experience in travel and expenses accounting.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles.

  • Intermediate level proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

The Travel and Expense Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our travel and expense-related financial activities. This role involves managing employee travel expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies, and contributing to efficient expense management processes.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Review and process employee travel expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Track and manage corporate credit card expenses.
  • Verify receipts and supporting documentation for expense claims.
  • Ensure compliance with company travel and expense policies.
  • Communicate and enforce travel and expense policy guidelines.
  • Analyze travel and expense data to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with department heads to optimize travel-related spending

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in travel and expenses accounting or a similar financial role
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations regarding travel and expenses
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy
  • At least be at an intermediate level in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, V-lookups)
  • Experience working with Workday is beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Other requirements:

  • Shift is between APAC and EMEA time
  • Work arrangement is Hyrid (2-3x a week in office)
