Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented AML Officer to join our Compliance team in Malta. This role is integral to ensuring the company's full compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT) regulations across multiple jurisdictions. We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, a proactive problem-solving approach, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic regulatory environment.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct OSINT research and utilize both internal and external resources to assess customer profiles and mitigate AML risks by verifying and investigating the Source of Funds (SOF).
• Ensure all AML investigations are conducted efficiently and completed within required timeframes. • Request and review customer SOF documentation to ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to meet internal compliance standards and regulatory requirements. • Escalate complex AML concerns to the AML Manager and/or MLRO as needed, providing concise summaries and relevant information for further review. • Review, update, and amend affordability limits on customer accounts based on available financial information and risk assessments • Generate and manage AML reports and other risk management documentation to support ongoing monitoring and control measures. • Assist in compiling and preparing documentation for regulatory audits and compliance reviews. • Safeguard customer data and ensure compliance with the Data Protection Policy. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the AML Manager and MLRO to support the department’s objectives • Assist in the preparation and submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) / Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the relevant Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs).
Requirements:
• Prior experience in a risk or compliance role is highly desirable
• Experience within the gambling industry is preferred. • Experience with KYC, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, and risk assessments. • Knowledge of UK and foreign jurisdictions Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations • Excellent organisation and time management skills. • Ability to use initiative to analyse an event and make an appropriate decision. • High level of attention to detail and accuracy. • Exceptional oral and written communication skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Sound reasoning skills to make confident, well-justified decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with AML monitoring tools and case management systems. • Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
