Role Summary:
A career in our Virtual Funds & Schemes Center of Excellence (VFS CoE) is the natural extension of PwC’s leading class global delivery capabilities. As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.
Qualifications / Certifications required:
Relevant professional qualification and / or studying toward the CA(SA) qualification CA (SA) preferred
Experience required:
2 years post SAICA traineeship experience in a Senior Auditor role. 2 years experience industry experience in auditing Financial Services clients (Insurance and Investment Management)
Responsibilities of role:
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Assist in managing the VFS CoE team, which provides audit support to audit teams across Africa on a remote basis;
● Coaching, supervision and co-ordination of staff;
● Review audit work performed by juniors in line with PwC methodologies for pension and retirement funds, medical and asset wealth management schemes;
● Assist with work in progress management and administration as well as with the processing of invoices;
● Assist with mapping out planned deadlines for the department as a whole with regard to the various audit teams to which we provide support on an annual basis;
● Assist with month end reporting and other month end tasks;
● Monitoring compliance with independence requirements with regard to each request for work performed;
● Participation in the facilitation of training and orientation of new joiners;
● Assist in performance management process;
● Manage relationships with key audit teams that are supported by VFS CoE;
● Drive new initiatives and general growth of the VFS CoE division;
● Prepare budgets for new requests;
● Allocation of new requests to staff;
● Monitor correspondence with regard to requests that are in progress;
● Follow up on the progress of current requests;
● Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen;
● Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges;
● Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues;
