Job Description

Tesla Energy seeks a Product Engineer for its Autobidder team. This role involves studying energy markets, developing bidding strategies, and making trading decisions. Responsibilities include developing internal software tools and dashboards, aggregating fleet data for reporting, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes, and handling customer escalations. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's or Master's in electrical/electronic engineering, strong engineering principles, data analysis skills (SQL, Python), and excellent communication abilities. Must have:

Tesla Energy is actively seeking a motivated and dynamic Engineer to play a pivotal role in the Tesla Autobidder team, working across our energy product portfolio.

A key responsibility of this role involves studying energy markets and making bidding strategies and trading decisions.

What You’ll Do

Study different markets and adjust bidding strategies and trading decisions
Develop internal software tools and interactive dashboards tailored for different markets
Aggregate and synthesize fleet data, constructing analytical tables and dynamic dashboards to facilitate tracking and comprehensive reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineering, software/firmware experts, to pinpoint the root causes and drive improvements
Handle customer escalations from all regions

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor or master’s in electrical/electronic or equivalent engineering
Solid foundation in engineering principles and intuitive problem-solving, applied to firmware/software
Comfortable writing scripts to analyze data, including SQL and Python JupyterNotebooks
Willingness to learn the AEMO markets and the electric grid, with potential growth into US and European electricity markets
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a collaborative approach
Highly self-motivated individual who can work autonomously
NEM/AEMO experience will be highly regarded
