The purpose of this role is to manage a team of media planners and assist the Account Director on a day to day basis. This is to ensure that their teams are delivering plans that deliver against client objectives whilst balancing agency trading objectives

Join our market leading Amplifi Media Team where, as an Associate Director in our AV team, you will be leading a team of likeminded individuals through the constantly evolving AV landscape, showcasing your end to end expertise in AV planning and buying.

As part of our team, your skills and knowledge will be honed further. Reporting directly to your AV Partner, you will be responsible for leading your team on delivering great work for our clients, challenging them in an ever-evolving market whilst having a keen eye on delivering in line with direction from the Amplifi AV Trading team. You will own a portfolio of clients that vary by size and industry but also can lean into new business pitches and be the AV voice in those meetings.

Role Purpose

The AV Associate Director role is a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for expanding their knowledge of the fast-evolving world of AV Planning and buying and a desire to work at a World Leading Media Agency. The role offers a wealth of variety spanning both the worlds of AV Video in all it’s forms as well as the Audio and Cinema market.

Key Accountabilities

Client Leadership: Leading the team at delivering excellent work for our clients showcasing extensive AV marketplace knowledge. Leading on all aspects of your clients from planning and buying.

Audit/PRF Management: Delivering on all key commercial commitments with clients through excellent planning and buying processes which lead to deliver audit/PRF commitments with clients.

Investment Management: Working closely with the Amplifi AV Trading Team and AV Partner to deliver in line with commercial direction, managing your portfolio of clients to ensure you are delivering on your targets.

Performance Analysis: Responsible for the generation of reports and insightful analysis on delivery and effectiveness of campaigns.

Financial Accuracy:  Lead the team to be efficient and effective at managing the financial elements of your accounts. Ensuring accountability of billings accuracy and delivering on this.

Industry Trends: Keeping clients and comms teams up to date with latest developments in AV, being the trusted go-to individual across your accounts for a point of view for clients.

Excellent Communication: Creating positive relationship with all stakeholders across Dentsu and with clients. Being clear and concise with that communication to build trust with clients.

Training Excellence: Being part of the team that delivers training across the Amplifi AV Activation team imparting your AV knowledge across the wider AV team.

What are we looking for in you?

  • 3+ years of experience in the field of AV Media Planning and/or Buying. Extensive knowledge of the UK AV Market, spanning Video and/or Audio channels Experience in Excel and the ability to showcase examples of data analysis experience.

  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written are key for this role.

  • We expect you to have a positive attitude with strong sense of responsibility and accountability.

  • The ability to follow processes, multitask and prioritise work accordingly is important.

  • High level of numeracy and literacy is essential due to the nature of the role being analytical and client-facing, with basic knowledge of MS Office suite.

  • Well-developed logic, problem solving and reasoning skills, including an aptitude for data analysis.

  • Able to work under pressure with attention to detail as we thrive from being a centre of excellence and provide error-free work for our clients.

  • An eye for detail is key! Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a team; building relationships with your stakeholders is key to being successful at dentsu.

  • A strong sense of professionalism, commercialism, and a deep respect for others.

  • Ability to lead a team effectively and help the individuals in that team grow and fulfil their potential.

What does life at Dentsu look like?

Training: You will have access to individuals with extensive experience in AV and wider media channels to help grow your knowledge and skills within AV. This will manifest itself in predominantly on the job training and will be both planning, buying and commercial management training. We also have a broader Dentsu University scheme (online training) with varying modules available at any time.

Data: You will be responsible for how your team’s output and the process they follow. Being competent in Excel, MedEx Systems and all buying systems is a must. You will lead the team on inputting data across various systems from AVP to managing PRF delivery so you will need to have great attention to detail for accuracy.

Campaign Strategy: You will lead the team in developing the strategy for clients and campaigns across your portfolio. Ensuring the strategy delivers on client KPIs but also aligns with direction from Amplifi AV Trading. Being creative in your thinking and sing innovative strategies to help deliver responses back to client alongside the comms teams.

Consultative Work: You’ll foster strong, professional relationships with your clients and key media partners, keeping in regular contact with them through a variety of mediums, whether this is through consistent email communication or weekly phone calls. You will utilise your skills to understand your client’s goals and objectives before communicating necessary changes and optimisations back to key media partners.

Tools and Platforms: As a Director, you will be extremely familiar and confident with all the tools and platforms needed to perform your job. Your main role will be to share this knowledge with your team and upskill the team in how to navigate and use them from AVP through to buying systems such as Spot Dashboard.
