We’re looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join Hawk-Eye Innovations on a 3-6 month contract basis. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical projects for global football organizations such as FIFA, La Liga, and UEFA.

The Role

As a Senior Java Engineer, you’ll join our Football Backend Team, working on cutting-edge systems that process real-time data for live football events. You’ll design, develop, and optimize backend services that power event-driven pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy collaborating in agile teams and delivering high-impact results on tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot).

• Work on event-driven architectures for football-related data pipelines.

• Deploy and scale applications in AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB).

• Implement observability, real-time monitoring, and logging with Datadog or similar tools.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and partners to meet key project deadlines.

• Ensure system reliability and performance in high-traffic, real-time environments.

What You’ll Need

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot.

• Proven track record in cloud platforms (AWS, ECS, Lambda).

• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).

• Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems.

• Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Terraform).

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Exposure to real-time data processing and sports technology.

• Duration: 3 months

• Rate: 120,000 HUF - 160,000 HUF

• Start Date: ASAP.
