We are looking to expand our small team of Audio Describers at the Orange Tree Theatre to continue to improve the quality of our accessible performances. All successful applicants will be invited to take part in a paid-for training course, led by an industry expert. On successful completion of training, and if you are certified by our trainer, we will invite you to join our team and schedule you for upcoming shows.

This role involves:

preparing and recording audio introductions for theatre productions

preparing descriptive scripts

delivering live audio descriptions during performance

delivering audio descriptions for live streamed events

collaborating with the creative teams to prepare and deliver touch tours

acting as editorial support to co-describers

collaborating with technical and front of house teams to ensure high-quality descriptions that enrich the theatre experience for all patrons

keeping informed about developments and best practice with the audio description field
