Job Description
As a Customer Engineer for Gemini Code Assist, you'll be a subject matter expert, working with technical business teams to help customers understand and deploy Gemini code assist. Responsibilities include explaining technical differentiators, building AI-assisted software development use cases (legacy code migration, version migration), solving roadblocks, and shaping the future of the tool. You'll work directly with customers and product development, creating technical content (tutorials, code samples), and representing Google Cloud at industry events. This role requires strong consulting skills, experience modernizing legacy applications using cloud-native methodologies and tools, and expertise in various programming languages and frameworks.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
- 10+ years experience modernizing legacy applications
- Experience with cloud-native development
- Proficiency in Python, Java, GoLang, or similar
- Experience with Spring Boot or MVC frameworks
- Software development, code migration expertise
- Excellent consulting and presentation skills
Good to have:
- Experience with GCP and Vertex AI
- CI/CD, container orchestration experience
- Ability to create quick prototypes/demos
- Experience engaging with C-level executives

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in modernizing legacy applications and applying cloud native development methodologies and tools, including container technology.
- Experience in one or more languages/frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, GoLang, JavaScript, Typescript, PyTorch, and Jupyter/Colab notebooks).
- Experience with popular frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Model-View-Controller (MVC) frameworks).
- Experience with software development, code technology migrations programs, and code version migrations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with modern software development life-cycle methodologies and tools including IDEs, CI/CD, container orchestration and operations.
- Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Vertex AI.
- Ability to create quick prototypes/demos, and articulate this to a customer audience, while integrating with existing systems and processes
- Ability to engage with C-level or executive business leaders and influence decisions.
- Excellent consulting skills, with the ability to deliver technical presentations while leading detailed discovery and planning sessions that are aligned with the customer with defined scope and success criteria.

Responsibilities
- Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understanding key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
- Support the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
- Create and deliver technical content (e.g., best practices, tutorials, code samples, presentations) to enable customers and internal teams to leverage Google Cloud Code Assist tool.
- Travel to customer locations and represent Google Cloud at conferences, meetups, and other industry events to share knowledge, network with peers, and stay current on the latest trends.
