Job Description

The Director of Marketing will lead marketing programs for multiple product lines to align with business and sales goals. Responsibilities include leading and developing marketing managers, overseeing marketing strategies to drive sales, researching best practices, developing budgets, analyzing goals, integrating acquired companies, exploring new market segments, guiding positioning and messaging, maintaining brand position, and overseeing product launches. The candidate should have experience in a B2B tech organization with experience in web, events, and paid programs. They will be responsible for driving sales and growing brand presence. The role requires a proactive approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing.
  • 5+ years of people management/leadership experience.
  • 8+ years of sales/marketing experience in B2B tech.
  • 7+ years of digital marketing experience.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with managed/secured file transfer a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and personnel management.

Fortra is looking for an experienced, outstanding Director of Marketing to lead teams that deliver marketing programs to align with business and sales goals. This person is responsible for overseeing and guiding marketing initiatives for multiple product lines to drive sales. The role reports to the General Managers of the business units.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and develop marketing managers who run and grow their teams
  • Oversee and guide the strategy for the product line teams as they plan, develop, execute, and measure inbound and outbound marketing programs to drive sales
  • Research best practices and make sure marketing teams are efficiently generating leads
  • Develop budgets and performance targets for campaigns, tactics, and lead sources
  • Regularly analyze goals for pipeline creation to continually optimize existing programs and experiment with/develop new ones.
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders to effectively integrate acquired companies into the portfolio
  • Work with GMs and sales leaders to explore new market segments and develop supportive marketing plans accordingly
  • Guide super clear positioning and messaging both within a distinct product line and through a broader portfolio that includes gathering competitive analysis and voice of customer
  • Maintain and grow brand(s) position with analysts, media, and review sites
  • Oversee product launches by working with sales, product management, and product development
  • Report quarterly to executive team on results

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of people management/leadership experience
  • 8+ years of sales/marketing experience in increasingly complex roles with experience in a B2B tech organization (software or cybersecurity) that spans web, events, paid programs, sales enablement
  • 7+ years of digital marketing experience that includes familiarity with web platforms, marketing automation platforms, account-based marketing platforms, peer review sites, customer advocacy, and in-depth analytics
  • A minimum of seven years of experience marketing in North America, Latin America, Europe, and/or Asia.
  • Familiarity with managed/secured file transfer a plus
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and personnel management.
  • Strong time management skills and manages multiple priorities within tight time constraints
  • Solid analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to optimize campaigns
  • Strong collaboration with sales, pre-sales, marketing, and project management
  • Do-what-it-takes mindset to execute against strategy and always help sales
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and eager to have an impact on a rapidly growing organization
