The Director, People Business Partner for Scopely's Max Games Division acts as a strategic advisor to division and game leaders. Key responsibilities include developing and executing talent strategies, implementing global talent management initiatives, fostering leadership development, and managing employee relations. This role requires partnering with senior leaders, driving performance, navigating change, and collaborating with the broader People Business Partner team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with deep knowledge of employment laws and best practices. The position focuses on building a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive culture within the division, aligning people strategies with business objectives.

Description

As the Director, People Business Partner for the Max Games Division, you will serve as a strategic advisor and partner to division and game leaders, ensuring their teams are set up for success. This role will focus on delivering thoughtful people strategies aligned with business objectives while fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Talent Partnering: Partner with game leaders and the People BP leadership team to design and execute clear, effective talent strategies for the Max Games Division. Guide leadership on organizational design, team structures, leadership development, and workforce planning.
  • Talent Management: Shape and implement Scopely’s global talent management strategies by addressing the specific needs, challenges, and culture of your teams. Provide practical, scalable solutions to drive team performance, development, and engagement.
  • Leadership Development: Collaborate with game leaders to strengthen leadership practices, communication, and talent decision-making across the division. Drive programs that reinforce Scopely’s operating values and leadership expectations.
  • Employee Relations: Partner with managers, employees, and (as needed) ER/ Legal to proactively resolve employee relations issues with fairness, consistency, and confidentiality.
  • Change Management: Support teams in navigating change by connecting business strategies to organizational needs. Coach leaders on effective change communication, implementation, and follow-through.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Partner closely with the broader People Business Partner team to ensure alignment and delivery of Scopely’s People strategy across geographies and cultures. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on all people-related matters.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive HR or People Business Partner experience, including partnering with senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic people initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and influencing skills, with experience driving performance and organizational development in fast-paced environments.
  • Expertise in organizational design, talent management, change management, and leadership development.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, high-growth settings with competing priorities and evolving challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Global experience working across cultures and regions, with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
  • Deep knowledge of employment laws and best practices, ensuring compliance and ethical people management.
