Job Description

As an Engineer, Coordination Integration Planning at Scout Motors, you will be a part of an iconic brand set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace. You will assist in the development of the powertrain and drive system integration for Scout Motors' vehicles. You will review the availability of software, functions, and parts, identify risks, and propose solutions. You'll also create a drive system integration plan, coordinate prototype and serial development, and collaborate with various teams to overcome engineering challenges. This role requires in-office presence in Novi, Michigan, with in-person meetings and events.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in concept engineering.
  • Experience in planning and tracking of software.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Assist in the development of the powertrain and drive system integration for Scout Motors’ vehicles
  • Be a part of the vision of engineering excellence & source of knowledge
  • Critically review of the availability of software/functions/parts and identify risks and weaknesses in the timing and propose solutions and escalate the topics to the responsible DRE or Function owner
  • Create with collaboration, a drive system integration plan that allows other teams to see to collaborate and support
  • Liaise with the hardware and testing/calibration teams to propose technical or timing solutions
  • Coordinate the prototype and serial development stage in terms of requirements and change managements in coordination of development partners, test planning and software releases
  • Partner with other hardware and calibration teams to come up with solutions to engineering & functional challenges
  • Hands-on prototyping and building capability, from initial operation to coordinating and implementing software and hardware
  • Be involved other related tasks / activities as required

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Relevant degree such as bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, IT systems, or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university, preferably in electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in concept engineering or serial development, specifically with focus of platforms/variants, module selection and modification, in the automotive industry is desired
  • Experience in planning, tracking and coordination of software, functions and parts/modules including integration processes in a manner that reflects system engineering, integration and release processes
  • Advanced project steering and coordination skills to practice independent project management in a defined drive system scope
  • Motivated engineer wanting to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle technical design, create new ideas and solutions, enjoy hands-on testing
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ownership, self-motivated, problem solving, analytical, team player, innovative, creative, communication skills and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships
  • Proven ability to work in a truly cross-functional and global environment

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $120,000.00 - $135,000.00
