Job Description

As an Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team in developing GenAI-based development tools to enhance developer productivity. You'll develop server and middleware code, interacting with Google's latest LLMs. Collaborating with researchers, engineers, and product managers from Google Cloud AI and Google Research, you'll contribute directly to Google's product excellence. Responsibilities include managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, fostering a healthy team culture, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions, participating in design reviews, and resolving technical issues. This role offers the opportunity to work in a challenging and impactful environment, leading a team in developing cutting-edge technology.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of software development experience
3 years of technical leadership experience
2 years of people management experience
Experience with programming languages (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field
Experience in a complex, matrixed organization

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

You will develop server code as well as middleware code which implement functionalities that interact with Google's latest LLMs. You will work closely with researchers, engineers, and product managers from both Google Cloud AI and Google Research, developing challenging machine learning solutions that will contribute directly to Google's product excellence.

Responsibilities

Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Help grow our presence in Warsaw, and grow and sustain a healthy and collaborative culture for the new team.
Lead a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
