Our Actuarial Services team is involved in various different service offerings towards the Belgian and international insurance market and active on a wide range of topics such as BEGAAP, Solvency II, IFRS 17,
ESG, actuarial audit support to insurance companies, insurance risk management consulting and employee benefits.
Our consultants work in close collaboration with our IFRS specialists,
consultants dedicated to the insurance sector and risk management, tax & legal consultants, as well as with our auditors and Deals consultants.
Your impact
● You will help our clients assess the impact and support the implementation of the upcoming IFRS 17 standard
● You will help develop our insurance department and service offering
● You will support our Audit Department: answering technical questions about BGAAP, IFRS or SII and reviewing the level of technical provisions of Insurance Companies based on the Belgian accounting rules, IFRS and SII
● You will be in charge of insurance projects within our client network
You will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Train and lead staff
● Establish effective working relationships directly with clients
● Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
● Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
● Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
● Have regular interactions with colleagues in other PwC territories to jointly develop go-to-market solutions, technical positions on IFRS 17 and Solvency II, support insurers in their finance transformation, etc.
About you
A qualified actuary with a minimum of 5 year of relevant experience in non-life related matters
Have experience in managing more junior experts and delivering projects
Like challenges, solving problems
Are eager to learn, client oriented and team player and you like to work in a dynamic and diverse team
During this experience (built in the insurance sector and/or in consulting), you have come in contact with some of the following topics:
○ Accounting and reporting under BGAAP/IFRS17/Solvency II
○ Advising clients
○ Reserving, pricing, ALM…
○ Process automation
○ Audit
○ Cyber risk
○ Climate risk modelling
● Fluent in English and in French and/or Dutch.
● A born team player with in-depth technical expertise and client-oriented.
● You have a critical mindset.
● Able to communicate complex technical matters in a clear, precise and practical manner to non-specialists.
● IT/programming (R, Python, …) and commercial skills are an asset.
