Job Description

Google Cloud Platform seeks a Field Sales Representative to serve as the primary relationship owner and business generator for state, local, and education accounts in the south and midwest territory. Responsibilities include driving new business opportunities, expanding existing relationships, managing the entire sales cycle, conducting in-depth customer consultations, crafting tailored solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires leveraging a deep understanding of Public Sector challenges to position Google as a strategic partner for digital transformation. Collaboration with internal teams (Technical Specialists and Customer Success Managers) is crucial for seamless product/service delivery and maximizing business growth. The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of technology sales experience with SaaS products, focusing on State, Local, and Education clients. Experience with large commercial agreements and technical aspects of migration planning is highly valued.

Job Details


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of sales experience in the technology industry with SaaS products and platforms.
  • Experience offering products to State, Local, and Education clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with and managing partners in implementation projects, including global system integrators and packaged software vendors.
  • Experience offering infrastructure software, databases, analytical tools, applications software, or cloud solutions.
  • Experience with large commercial and legal agreements working with procurement, legal, and business teams.
  • Ability to work with sales engineers and customer’s technical leads to inventory existing software estate, define migration plans, and build business cases for migrations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$169,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner and business generator for state, local, and education accounts within region. 
  • Drive new business opportunities, expand existing relationships, and manage the entire business cycle from needs assessment to successful implementation.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations to understand customer challenges, crafting and presenting tailored solutions, discussing agreements, and ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Leverage deep understanding of Public Sector challenges and opportunities to build trust and credibility, positioning our company as a strategic partner for their digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Technical Specialists and Customer Success Managers, to ensure seamless delivery of our products and services, ultimately maximizing business generation and growth within assigned territory.
