Job Description

This internship at Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg offers a six-month, full-time opportunity to support the Technical Services team in maintaining and improving fire protection systems. Responsibilities include assisting technicians with maintenance and repairs, developing documentation for fire alarm, sprinkler, and extinguishing systems, contributing to the Gigafactory's construction process, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, supporting downtime activities, and identifying cost reduction opportunities. The intern will participate in FMEA analysis and support expert inspections. The ideal candidate is studying Fire Protection, Safety, Civil, Facility Management, or Environmental Engineering, possesses strong technical understanding and German language skills, and is proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

The Technical services Team works around the clock on utilities and infrastructure systems to maximize performance and availability. Through a combination of preventative and corrective maintenance they ensure these systems operate as intended, and when they don't, they're returned to service as soon as possible. The Technical service Team is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Engineer who can plan, maintain and coordinate all facilities required for the Gigafactory Berlin.

What You’ll Do

You support the technicians with the maintenance, repair, and operation of fire protection systems.
You develop work instructions, maintenance, and spare parts documentation with engineers for fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishing systems, and smoke and heat extraction systems.
You are involved in the construction process of the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg to ensure efficient life cycle costs, reliability, and operational capability of the factory.
You monitor compliance with standards, guidelines, and regulations.
You support the technical service during downtime activities.
You develop ways to reduce the costs of maintenance, operation, or improvement projects.
You assist in the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
You support expert inspections and their preliminary assessments.

What You’ll Bring

You are currently studying Fire Protection Engineering, Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering (with a focus on building safety), Facility Management, or Environmental Engineering.
You have the ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
You have good German language skills (English skills are desirable).
You have a technical understanding.
You have experience with the Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word).
