Football Systems Operator (Freelance)

📍 Location: The majority of work will take place on-site at stadiums in Vienna - Linz - Salzburg - Innsbruck - Klagenfurt - Graz, with further potential opportunities for travel across Europe

📝 Contract: Freelance

💰 Daily Rate: 100€ during the training period and up to 200€ daily rate once training has been completed and match operations begin

💡What to Expect

• Match Days – Be on-site up to 6 hours pre-kickoff and stay up to 2 hours post-game to ensure seamless operations.

• Setup Days – Support pre-match preparations, ensuring our systems are match-ready which may require a presence on the day/s before match day

• Prepared To Be Flexible – Work closely with our onsite team to adapt to the ever-changing demands of live football and be ready to be flexible with work hours depending on the needs of the onsite team

💼Key Responsibilities

The main purpose of these services is to prepare the VAR equipment at the stadium and monitor them during the match. 

You can find the more specific responsibilities here:

• Drive the van to the stadium and connect the power

• Run fibre to the Outside Broadcast Cab and establish a link with our Remote Center

• Setup the VAR main and backup monitor and audio equipment pitch side

• Monitor server status and health throughout the day

• Connect SDI feeds and XLR communication lines with the VAR

• Connect SDI feeds with Host Broadcast for broadcast cameras and PGM

• Be the bridge between the TV and the Remote center to Calibrate cameras 

• Check the audio lines

• Monitor our software during the games 

• De-rig all the equipment after the match
  

🛠Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

• Bright and enterprising with excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proactive, responsible attitude and ability to work on your initiative with minimum supervision

• Time management skills and ability to work in a high-pressure, procedural, live broadcast environment

• Ability to liaise with stakeholders in a professional and approachable manner with attention to good communication.

• Comfortable working in English (reading, writing and speaking) as you may need to interact with colleagues from other countries

• Able to adapt to flexible working conditions with irregular working hours

• Driving licence 

Preferred:

• A technical background, ideally in IT or Broadcast

• An interest in sports and/or sports analysis, with a good knowledge of football and the rules of the game

• Experience working on live events / technical production

• Informatics and Networking skills

• Prepared to travel locally and, if required, further afield in Austria
