Job Description

The Full Stack TypeScript Tech Lead will be the senior technical authority, specializing in backend development with TypeScript and Node.js, while also possessing a solid understanding of full-stack development principles. The role involves close collaboration with the Scrum Master to meet project milestones, setting and enforcing high standards for code quality, mentoring team members, and designing user-friendly web applications and APIs for financial reports. Responsibilities include implementing front-end interfaces, developing back-end services, integrating third-party tools, and ensuring code quality and scalability. The candidate will stay updated on industry trends and demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
  • Proficiency in front-end development technologies.
  • Solid understanding of back-end development concepts.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good to have:
  • Experience with financial reporting standards (XBRL, iXBRL).
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (SEC, HMRC, etc.).

Responsibilities

1.    Act as the senior technical authority in the team, specializing in backend development with TypeScript and Node.js, while also possessing a solid understanding of full-stack development principles.
2.    Work in close partnership with the Scrum Master to ensure project milestones are met, aligning development efforts with sprint goals and overall project timelines.
3.    Set and enforce high standards for code quality and robustness, including performing code reviews, and advocating for best practices in backend development and security.
4.    Mentor team members, fostering professional growth and enhancing their technical skills in TypeScript, Node.js, and related technologies. Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
5.    Design and develop user-friendly web applications and APIs for generating, validating, and filing financial reports in iXBRL format.
6.    Implement front-end interfaces using modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
7.    Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
8.    Develop back-end services and APIs using server-side technologies such as Node.js.
9.    Integrate third-party libraries, tools, and APIs to enhance the functionality and performance of the iXBRL solution.
10.    Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment practices.
11.    Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to iXBRL and financial reporting.
12.    Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Requirements
1.    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2.    Proven experience (8+ years) as a Full Stack Developer or similar role, with a focus on web application development.
3.    Strong proficiency in front-end development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
4.    Solid understanding of back-end development concepts and experience with server-side technologies (Node.js, Nest.js.).
5.    Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
6.    Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile software development methodologies.
7.    Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
8.    Experience with financial reporting standards (XBRL, iXBRL) and regulatory compliance (SEC, HMRC, etc.) is a plus.
