Gen AI Production Manager, Public Sector

As a generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) production manager (GPM), you will be responsible for managing a team of 20+ employees that are producing and grading written content that trains cutting-edge AI models for national security use cases for Scale’s Public Sector customers. The role has two major components. First, you will have a major role in running day-to-day operations to produce high-quality training data at our St. Louis AI Center. Second, you will be a people leader for a team of writers charged with coaching and leading them to achieve individual and collective goals.

You will:

• Lead and coach military writers to produce high-quality training data
• Manage overall team performance and provide individually-tailored feedback for performance improvement
• Work closely with the Operations Associate and Program Manager to optimize writing workflows through analytics, software tools, performance management, and other operational techniques
• Dive into our data and communicate with members of the Public Sector Operations team on quality and productivity trends and take remedial action
• Support GenAI model training and evaluation by writing and answering questions related to military domains (e.g. operations, intelligence, logistics, etc)
• Be able to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week in our St. Louis AI Center (relocation assistance may be available). 

Ideally you'd have:

• Experience leading large teams
• A team player mentality
• A “what can I do to make this better” mindset
• An active U.S. security clearance, preferably Top Secret.
• Strong computer skills (Excel / Google Sheet; knack for learning software quickly)

Nice to haves:

• 5+ years minimum military experience
• Strong experience writing professionally using military or DOD language
• This is a salaried, exempt position, and additional hours may be required based on business needs.
• SQL knowledge and or coding experience
