ComeOn Group is looking for an experienced Head of AML to manage anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing programs. This role involves developing and implementing AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring compliance with regulations in multiple markets. Responsibilities include risk assessments, customer due diligence, reporting to authorities, and overseeing the AML/CFT training program. The Head of AML will also lead and manage the AML team. The position reports directly to the C-Suite and involves collaboration across different departments.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of managerial experience in AML.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT rules in Malta, Sweden, and Netherlands.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience in developing and implementing AML/CFT policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Location: Malta - Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Head of AML, who can deliver high-quality anti money laundering risk management and the counter-terrorist financing program in a structured and compliant manner. You are creative in how we can mitigate risk, know the best approach to fulfil our obligations while helping the organisation reach its target in all our regulated markets! This is a key role within our organisation reporting directly into the C-Suite and overlapping into different areas and departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company's AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and revise policies and procedures of the organisation and its related activities to ensure all is compliant and aligned with legal as well as regulatory obligations
  • Develop and maintain regular monitoring procedures and practices to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems and measures implemented
  • Carry out a business risk assessments
  • Design, maintain and regularly assess, customer risk assessment (CRA) models, risk-based customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes
  • Reporting obligations to the business, the board of directors and the Authorities as needed
  • Be the primary contact for any AML/CFT matters for the relevant authorities
  • Oversee the AML/CFT training program
  • Oversee the implementation of third-party partners in order to facilitate the fulfilment of requirements for the AML/CFT program
  • Act as Money Laundering Reporting Officer
  • Lead, manage, and grow the AML team to support current and future business needs.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to team members, fostering a proactive and knowledgeable AML function.
  • Define clear goals and performance metrics, aligning the team’s activities with business and regulatory priorities.


About you:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT rules in Malta, Sweden, and Netherlands
  • Independent worker with the ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong advocate for good risk and governance culture
  • Innovative thinker with a focus on automating systems and monitoring tools
  • Experience in developing and implementing AML/CFT policies, procedures, and controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to AML/CFT
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. finance, business, economics) is preferred.
