Job Description

Develop and support a centralized market data platform for a banking and capital markets client. The Next Generation Market Data Plant will ingest, collect, disseminate market data, and execute orders with minimal latency. Responsibilities include large application deployment and support, cloud-native development, ensuring high availability and zero downtime, implementing A/B deployments, and advanced application instrumentation. The platform will distribute market data via publish/subscribe and other industry-standard mechanisms. This role requires extensive Java experience, knowledge of data structures, and experience with high-volume, real-time, low-latency systems.

Must have:

6-7 years Java development experience
Extensive Java core server experience
Strong knowledge of Data Structures
Large-scale solution design & implementation
Java memory model and concurrency
High volume processing, real-time/low-latency solutions
Distributed systems or cloud computing

Good to have:

Resilient, scalable, high-performing multithreaded applications
Java low latency experience
JNI
Market Data Feed Handlers
Network protocols (TCP, Multicast)
Jenkins and CI/CD
Unix and Python scripting

Project description

Our client in banking and capital markets industry is building a centralised platform for its sales and trading business vertical.

FICC Technology Team is seeking a strong Java low latency developer to build the Next Generation Market Data Plant which will ingest, collect and disseminate market data and perform order execution with the lowest possible latency. In addition, market data will be distributed to internal applications via publish/subscribe and other well-known industry mechanisms

Responsibilities

Large application footprint deployment and support

Cloud native application development, HA, zero downtime, A/B deployment

State of the art application instrumentation (logging, tracing, metrics)

Name server registry, auto DNS, discoverability of services, Service registry and service management

SpringBoot platform, SpringBoot server, SpringBoot Admin

Skills

Must have

6-7 years of experience in Java development

Extensive Java core server experience

Strong knowledge of fundamental Computer Science Data Structures and excellent program-solving skills

Good understanding of large-scale solution design and implementation

Extensive experience with Java memory model and concurrency

Experience with high volume processing, real time systems or low-latency solutions

Experience with distributed systems or cloud computing

Nice to have

Experience in building resilient, scalable, and high-performing multithreaded applications

Java low latency experience

Knowledge and/or experience with JNI

Experience with Market Data Feed Handlers

Experience with network protocols (TCP, Multicast)

Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD

Unix and Python scripting
