Jr. Game Designer

Steer Studios mission is to create a world-leading game studios in Saudi Arabia, creating high-quality games for international audiences. Also to help Saudi’s passionate gaming sector to develop homegrown IP and more broadly, make KSA a global hub for gaming. As part of the Steer studios team, you will work alongside the best global gaming talents who have relocated to Riyadh to be part of the ambitious group, and innovative, passionate and hardworking Saudis.

Steer Studios is seeking a Jr. Game Designer with a passion for various genres of games and an interest in mobile game development. S/he would be working with the game team designing game mechanics, systems, rules and features. They will coordinate with the Lead Designer and work towards the vision of the game.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Stay up to date with the latest player trends and incorporate these where applicable.

·       Create innovative gameplay, systems, mechanics and experiences for the defined game vision,

·       Independently manage various creative ideas

·       Define GDD for various game systems and document all details, iterations, and changes for the development teams.

·       Review game features to ensure they are fun and developed per the GDD defined.

·       Regularly playing the game updates to provide feedback and quality control.

·       Review and iterate to incorporate user feedback and data into game design and feature sets.

·       Collaborating closely and ensuring alignment with artists, developers, and other team members.

·       Communicate and report to the Design Lead.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

·       0-4 years of experience as a game designer.

·       Strong understanding of the mobile gaming landscape, market trends, and game mechanics.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and feature specifications.

·       Familiarity with game metrics & analytics tools to make informed design decisions.

·       Experience in prototyping and shipping games with Unity and well versed with the constraints of it.

·       Extensive knowledge of Game Design and player’s motivations principles.

·       Passionate gamer with attention to details, proactive problem-solving skills and thriving in a multi-disciplinary & collaborative environment.

·       Extensive knowledge of Excel (or any scripting language) to maintain game design configurations.

·       Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in game design or equivalent is preferred.
