In this crucial role for AECOM as a strategic partner for Shell Mobility in the Netherlands, you will be responsible for contractual deliveries within your assigned expertise area as an Operational Maintenance Lead. You will build trust-based relationships to ensure operational excellence, aligning with the interests of all stakeholders including Shell retailers, management, and contractors. You will operate in an environment with challenging safety, sustainability, and legal criteria, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and innovation, supported by real-time data.
Must have:
  • Responsible for HSSE performance and compliance with AECOM and Shell's “GOAL ZERO” safety standards.
  • Promote a leading HSSE approach, visible in personal behavior and values.
  • Ensure proper quality controls on FMC work orders.
  • Manage performance of maintenance contractors using MMS-KPI reports.
  • Ensure current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are correctly assigned.
  • Prepare business cases for SLA redefinition and simplification.
  • Manage OPEX maintenance budgets within approved packages and timelines.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are scheduled and executed.
  • Participate in EPCM-CM/AI design and project management.
  • Stay informed about the latest technical possibilities and innovations.
  • Position FMC services as high as possible towards all stakeholders.
  • Act as a technical expertise center for maintenance services.
  • Knowledge of Shell and AECOM's HSSE policies and standards, and experience to implement them.
  • Understand equipment importance for customer experience and possess technical skills for root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to how site design effectively supports equipment maintenance.
  • Be financially responsible for FMC activities within predefined budgets.

In your role, you are crucial to the success of AECOM as a strategic partner for Shell Mobility in the Netherlands. As Operational Maintenance Lead, you are responsible for contractual deliveries within your assigned area of expertise. You build relationships based on trust to deliver operational excellence, in line with the interests of all involved parties of AECOM and Shell, including:

  • Shell retailers
  • Shell management
  • Other partners and suppliers directly contracted by Shell
  • Contractors and subcontractors
  • AECOM colleagues

You are aware that we operate in an environment with challenging performance criteria in the areas of safety, sustainability, and legal obligations, where profit is achieved through operational efficiency, cost reduction, and innovation. Within all these areas, you are expected to perform within your own field. You can count on support from real-time data from the Maintenance Management System (MMS) and the data management team.

You apply your technical and contractual knowledge to FMC purchasing activities, and perform root cause analyses for Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental (HSSE) incidents, aimed at continuous improvement of contractor KPIs.

As Maintenance Lead, you must listen, validate, and collaborate to find solutions. You work according to agreed team processes, procedures, and systems, and daily demonstrate why AECOM is the preferred FMC partner for Shell. Your effectiveness directly influences the success of your FMC colleagues.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for HSSE performance and compliance with AECOM and Shell's “GOAL ZERO” safety standards through contractor and on-site audits.
  • Promoting a leading HSSE approach, visible in personal behavior and values towards team members and the contracted chain.
  • Ensuring proper quality controls on FMC work orders.
  • Managing the performance of maintenance contractors using daily, weekly, and monthly Maintenance Management System (MMS) KPI reports to improve performance and identify equipment replacement and upgrade needs.
  • Ensuring that current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are correctly assigned, and providing feedback for optimization within your area of expertise.
  • Where necessary, preparing business cases for redefinition and simplification of SLA agreements.
  • Managing OPEX maintenance budgets within approved packages and timelines, and ensuring contractors submit invoices and estimates timely and correctly.
  • Ensuring that preventive maintenance programs are scheduled and executed with the Maintenance Leads, for compliance with legislation and GIDS requirements (Shell requirements).
  • Participating in and/or guiding EPCM-CM/AI design and project management for projects and programs, with a focus on added value.
  • Staying informed about the latest technical possibilities and innovations within your scope.
  • Positioning FMC services as high as possible towards all stakeholders, within contractual possibilities.
  • Acting as a technical expertise center for maintenance services to:

I. ensure equipment lifecycle thinking in purchasing initiatives.

II. identify and develop business solutions that add value to Shell and AECOM.

III. contribute to design development, innovation, and knowledge management.

  • HSSE – Expert: You have knowledge of Shell and AECOM's HSSE policies and standards, and the experience to implement them correctly.
  • Equipment – Expert: You understand the importance of equipment for customer experience and possess technical skills for root cause analysis of poorly performing equipment, including making recommendations for repair or replacement.
  • Design – Proficient: You can contribute to how site design effectively supports equipment maintenance.
  • Cost & Value – Proficient: You can be financially responsible for FMC activities within predefined budgets.
  • Procurement Contracts – Proficient: You possess technical insights and contract knowledge that add value to FMC tenders and supplier selections.
  • Stakeholder Management – Proficient: You build trust relationships to deliver operational excellence in line with the interests of all stakeholders.

Scope Responsibilities

  • Civil works, pavements, buildings, roofs, canopies, sewerage (pressure pits, etc.), liquid-tight paving, oil-water separators, grease traps, rainwater drainage, etc.
  • Collaboration and possible involvement with fuel-related components, such as underground fuel tanks, dispensers (refueling), filling points, above-ground AdBlue tanks with dispenser, LPG, etc.
