How we LEAD:
Universal Music Group (UMG) currently has an opening for an Accounting Manager position within its Central Accounting Services (CAS) division to support the growing Direct to Consumer (D2C) business. Reporting to the Director of Accounting CAS, this position will support the general accounting close cycle of the D2C business, as well as provide management reporting and accounting support to the business. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of combined frontline general ledger and/or corporate reporting experience, must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - CPA credentials are preferred.

How you'll CREATE:
In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a broad array of accounting, analysis and reporting activities, including primary responsibility for:
Primary responsibility for managing the monthly financial close & management reporting process of the D2C business:
Manage one BPO staff in Mumbai to ensure deliverables & work quality is consistent with agreed upon SLA’s (service level agreements)
Manage one onshore Senior Accountant
Review & approve journal entries & financial schedules prepared by BPO and onshore staff
Review all GL activities for proper accounting, including monthly intercompany billing
Review and oversee cash reconciliation process between bank account, cash receipts and revenue recognition
Review monthly D2C sales & use tax reporting
Review & approve monthly 3rd party payments for external artists online store settlements
Liaise with D2C Finance team to develop, prepare and maintain management financial package, including financial reports (monthly sales and fulfillment reporting, revenue recognition and cost analysis), balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analytics to facilitate review of monthly close by senior finance management
Manage D2C sales fulfillment interface processing and enhancements, including liaising with multiple Global Technology teams, D2C Operations and directly with various ecommerce platform providers.
Provide support to D2C finance team as necessary to assist in forecasting and the annual plan process
Coordinate with division Finance representatives, as well as other UMG functional departments to stay current with business activity and emerging issues
Liaise with internal & external auditors and prepare audit schedules as required
Liaise with Compliance team to ensure best business practices
Support special projects, process improvement initiatives & annual SOX testing
Bring your VIBE:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting a must, CPA or MBA preferred
Minimum 5 to 7 years of broad general ledger accounting or corporate reporting experience; public accounting experience preferred
Experience with Shopify or other ecommerce platform provider preferred
Experience with SAP or similar general Ledger applications
Strong Excel & Word skills required
Music or Entertainment industry experience a plus
Strong analytical skills required; along with attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Possess strong oral and written communication skills
Authorized to work in the US.

Salary Range:
$63,000 - $136,400The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
