The Manager, Quality ensures product quality standards are met by resolving supplier quality issues. Responsibilities include leading a team in conducting audits, complaint follow-ups, and factory assessments; coaching quality engineers; collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions; monitoring supplier performance; developing training; establishing control plans; and staying updated on industry trends and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience in supplier quality management within the toy manufacturing industry (plastics, electronics, plush), and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, international standards (ASTM F963, EN-71, ISO-8124, CCPSA; FCC, ICES, RED), and SAP is preferred.
Must have:
  • 5+ years supplier quality management experience in toy manufacturing
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent communication (English and Chinese)
Good to have:
  • Experience with SAP
  • Familiar with children's product international standards

Job Description:

General

The role is responsible for ensuring product quality standards are met by identifying and resolving supplier quality issues through collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

What will you work on?

  • Lead the team to conduct routine work, e.g. process audit, complaint follow up, factory and 3rd party QC assessment etc. to fulfill customers’ expectations.
  • Coach and supervise quality engineer in the product qualification process.
  • Share and assist direct supervisor manager on team management work.
  • Work and monitor team member to work with supplier, 3rd party testing lab closely to ensure relates testing / factory audit complete on time on quality.
  • Conduct failure analysis, handle customer complaint and develop corrective action plan and set for preventive measurement.
  • Conduct manufacturing process auditing, setup process control and safety plan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions for quality-related issues and make sure the issues are well resolved.
  • Monitor supplier progress and provide regular status reports of supplier performance.
  • Develop and conduct corresponding training for internal departments and external suppliers for quality requirement or updating.
  • Establish control plan to ensure products quality comply with int. ext. requirement.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes related to supplier quality management.

What are your skills and experience?

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management, business or related field.
  • A minimum 5 years experience in supplier quality management, with experience in toys manufactory (plastics, electronics, plush) or consumer product company.  
  • Good computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases; proficient in Excel is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
  • Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards.
  • Good team player with a hands-on approach and positive working attitude.  Can work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Action oriented, proactive, able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • High level of ethics and trustworthy, strong sense of responsibility
  • Understanding of quality control techniques, statistics and methodologies.  Familiar with toy production and quality control process.
  • Familiar with Children’s products international standard, including ASTM F963, EN-71, ISO-8124, CCPSA; as well as FCC, ICES, RED etc. standards and regulations.
  • Experience of SAP operation is preferred.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
