The Sealing Shift Supervisor at CookUnity oversees the meal-sealing process during assigned shifts, ensuring accurate, safe, and efficient food product sealing in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role involves supervising the sealing team, maintaining equipment, coordinating with adjacent teams, and reporting shift outcomes. Key responsibilities include team leadership, quality control, machine operation and maintenance, shift coordination, documentation, and enforcing safety and compliance to ensure smooth workflow and timely production targets.
Must have:
  • Supervise, train, and support sealing machine operators and associates.

  • Conduct visual inspections of sealed products and address quality issues.
  • Ensure sealing machine is operated correctly and safely.
  • Perform pre-shift equipment checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for repairs as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with upstream and downstream teams for smooth workflow.
  • Complete shift logs, equipment checklists, and incident reports.
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies.

About the Role

The Sealing Shift Supervisor oversees the operation of the meal-sealing process during assigned shifts, ensuring that all food products are sealed accurately, safely, and efficiently in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role is responsible for supervising the sealing team, maintaining equipment, coordinating with adjacent teams, and reporting shift outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support sealing machine operators and associates during the shift. Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the sealing process for accuracy, consistency, and food safety compliance. Conduct visual inspections of sealed products and address any quality issues immediately.
  • Machine Operation & Maintenance: Ensure the sealing machine is operated correctly and safely. Perform pre-shift equipment checks, troubleshoot minor issues, and coordinate with maintenance for repairs as needed.
  • Shift Coordination: Communicate effectively with upstream (QC, MAP) and downstream (storage, fulfillment) teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of daily production targets.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Complete shift logs, equipment checklists, and incident reports as required. Escalate operational issues or delays to management in a timely manner.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies at all times. Provide guidance on PPE usage and proper handling of materials.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating or supervising food packaging/sealing equipment (preferred but not required).
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and escalate technical issues appropriately.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or holidays as required.

Compensation

All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Pay Range for this position

$21 - $27 USD
