ByteDance seeks Product Policy Managers for Latin America. Responsibilities include crafting and implementing region-specific content policies aligned with legal and cultural contexts, incorporating local insights into global Trust and Safety policies, continuously improving processes and policies, analyzing complex issues, tracking regulatory developments, acting as an escalation point for content safety issues, and collaborating with stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, understands the socio-political landscape of Latin America, and has experience with global Trust and Safety systems. Fluency in Spanish is mandatory.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years relevant experience (or 5 years without degree)
  • 1 year experience in each of 4 key skill areas (Latin America analysis, Trust & Safety systems, policy discussions, policy effectiveness analysis)
  • Spanish fluency (written and verbal)

Responsibilities Craft and implement content policies for the Latin America region, ensuring our policies fit the legal and cultural local environments. Incorporate local insights to ensure the policies are in line with global Trust and Safety policies. Continuously evaluate, propose, and execute improvements for existing processes and policies. Organize and articulate ambiguous and complex ideas or issues into clear documentation and analysis. Track regulatory and industrial policy development in local markets, and iterate content policy. Act as an escalation point of contact for the assigned region, align with all stakeholders, and respond to emergency content safety-related cases.
Qualifications
Qualifications Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Communications, International Relations, or a related field, and three years of related work experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience, employer will accept five years of related work experience. Of the required experience, must have one year of experience in each of the following skills: Analyzing socio, political, and cultural landscape in Latin America, including safety-related challenges, political dynamics, regulatory trends and current events; Working with a global Trust and Safety Operations Management system, including moderation and quality assurance ecosystem; Conducting policy discussions, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to improve Trust and Safety policies, processes, and tooling; Conducting policy effectiveness analysis and quality assurance data to identify market trends, threshold for accuracy and risk in order to make informed decisions before implementing new policies. Must have verbal and written fluency in Spanish. Travel Requirement: International travel required up to 15%. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $111925 - $168889 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
