As a Sales Solutions Engineer at DevRev, you will be a key member of the pre-sales team. You'll collaborate with Solutions Architects and stakeholders to design and implement technical solutions for clients, ensuring they meet and exceed expectations. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, and supporting the development of technical proposals. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, design custom solutions, and ensure a smooth transition to implementation and customer success teams. This role involves communicating complex technical concepts, building customer relationships, and contributing to the continuous improvement of sales engineering processes.
Must have:
  • 2-7 years of pre-sales or solutions engineering experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to explain complex concepts.
  • Basic coding skills in any programming language.
  • Familiarity with API integrations and webhooks.
  • Experience in conducting product demonstrations.
Good to have:
  • Experience in competitive analysis and market research.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% based on client needs.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Solutions Engineer to join our pre-sales team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge technical solutions for our clients. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Solutions Architects, and other key stakeholders to ensure that our solutions meet customer requirements and exceed expectations. You will play a pivotal role in the sales process, providing technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, and supporting the development of technical proposals.

As a Sales Solutions Engineer, you will work directly with customers to understand their technical needs, design customized solutions, and ensure a smooth transition to our implementation and customer success teams. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and build strong relationships with customers will be essential to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support to the sales team, assisting with product information, addressing technical questions, and supporting solution development during the sales process.
  • Conduct live product demonstrations tailored to the specific needs of prospective customers, effectively showcasing technical features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and pain points, working closely with Solutions Architects to design the most effective solutions.
  • Assist in the creation of technical proposals and RFP/RFI responses, ensuring alignment with customer needs and our technical capabilities.
  • Analyze competitor products and provide insights on our competitive advantages, keeping the sales team informed of market trends and competitor activities.
  • Train sales teams on the technical aspects of our products and solutions, developing training materials and conducting regular sessions to ensure they are equipped with the latest knowledge.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor and supporting them through the sales process and beyond.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including case studies and technical guides, to support both sales and customer use.
  • Customize solutions to meet specific customer requirements, working with engineering and product teams to deliver tailored configurations and integrations.
  • Ensure a seamless transition of new customers to the implementation and customer success teams, providing detailed handover documentation and support.
  • Work closely with internal teams, sharing technical knowledge and contributing to the continuous improvement of our sales engineering processes and practices.

An ideal candidate for the Sales Solutions Engineer role would have

  • 2-7 years of presales, sales engineering, solutions engineering experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Basic coding skills in any popular programming language, with the ability to understand and write simple code.
  • Familiarity with API integrations and the ability to work with webhooks to streamline workflows.
  • Proven experience in conducting product demonstrations and developing technical proposals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in competitive analysis and market research.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% based on client and business needs.
