Job Description
As a Senior Android Developer at BeReal, you'll build features aligning with the project architecture, collaborate on architectural decisions, and ensure best practices. You'll translate FIGMA designs into code, adhering to product guidelines and participating in product strategy. Responsibilities include writing robust code for millions of users, deploying and monitoring the app, and ensuring its stability for a large user base. The role requires proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and related Android technologies. You will be working with a modern tech stack including GCP, Kubernetes, and various databases. The position offers either freelance or permanent options.
Must Have:
- Kotlin, Jetpack Compose
- Room/Sqlite, Flow/Coroutines
- ExoPlayer, media3, CameraX
- Retrofit, Grpc
- Backend knowledge (Go/Node.js)
- Experience with large-scale apps

Role
- Build your feature following the project architecture, while collaborating on architectural decisions and ensuring best practices.
- Challenge and implement the designs provided in FIGMA, along with the product guidelines.
- Participate in the product strategy.
- Write robust code to be used by millions of users.
- Take responsibility for the deployment and monitoring of an app serving millions of users.

- Infrastructure: GCP, Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, GitHub actions, and ArgoCD.
- Backend: Go, Node.js (NestJS, Nx, Typescript), database: Spanner, PostgreSQL, Redis.
- Frontend (Android): Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Room / Sqlite database, Flow / Coroutines, ExoPlayer, media3, CameraX, Retrofit, Grpc
