We are looking for an experienced backend developer to shape the future of King’s Service Framework that provides the most popular path to build internal back-end services for some of the most popular mobile games in the world such as Candy Crush Saga.

The Service Framework team aims to build and maintain the solutions that make it trivial for developers to create, publish and consume APIs for the services they and others build. Ensure that services built at King can communicate with each other easily and securely. Expressing, publishing and consuming a service API is easy. Security concerns and reliability safeguards are incorporated in the solutions we offer with high requirements in API security.  developers spend their time writing business logic not implementing service integrations, security constructs or network configurations.

Your role within our Kingdom:

As a member of the development team, you will play an important role in influencing how King teams develop their internal applications and services that bring great value to our games. Here are a few examples of the team responsibilities:

Your responsibilities might include:

• Develop new platform features that improve developer experience throughout the application lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain backend libraries, internal Java frameworks, core APIs and self-service tools inside the King GCP ecosystem
• Develop, remediate and support API security features and systems
• Build and maintain the developer community to increase the adoption of our technology.
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to keep evolving the platform architecture

Skills to create thrills:

• Solid experience working with backend services using Java and modern Java frameworks and standards
• Good experience developing service APIs
• Good understanding of modern service architecture
• Comfortable working on the lower levels of the stack and nitty-gritty details of api and api security implementations
• Enjoys working in a dev-ops culture
• Experience working with GCP or other cloud providers
• Excellent communication skills and customer focus.

Bonus points:

• Experience with Vert.x and GRPC.
• Experience with build tools such as Gradle
• Experience running containerized Java application with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Cloud Build
• Experience with identity and access management
• Experience with Python
• Experience integrating IaaS APIs or automating CI/CD flows.
