Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Location: India
We are seeking an Engineer to be part of the Cloud Engineering team and work within our Azure adoption program, contributing to the re-platforming and re-architecting of solutions onto the cloud. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with database, network, and other development teams on projects related to e-commerce, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity. The ideal candidate should have good hands-on experience in Azure with an understanding of other Cloud platforms and be able to deliver assignments with minimal assistance.
Accountabilities & Essential Functions
- Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in Azure and or other Cloud platforms.
- Develop and deliver cross-training to selected associates.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of industry trends, concepts, and techniques.
- Participate in the planning and execution of the disaster recovery process.
- Mentor junior members of the team in the realm of technical development.
- Be the lead engineer on major cloud initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with application architects and DevOps to modernize the on-premises platform to evolve to or leverage different cloud application solutions either Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS).
- Develop, implement, and test data backup and recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
- Team subject matter expert.
- Ensure optimal performance of all servers by proactively monitoring performance, fine-tuning, and adjusting as necessary.
- Ensure efficient utilization of cloud data storage, establishing a secure cloud environment as per organization guidelines and Cloud security best practices.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
- Enhance the functionality of systems by developing and modifying scripts to automate system processes.
- Research, analyze, review, and recommend system upgrades and new software requirements by evaluating current and future requirements.
- Create optimal Azure server infrastructure in support of new applications by researching and recommending hardware/software technologies in support of application requirements.
- Good communication skills, develop and maintain all relevant documentation.
Skills & Certifications
- Self-starter and able to address and troubleshoot system issues.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Aptitude to solve real-time problems and make recommendations for smoother operation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments and effectively manage time and priorities.
- Ability to diagnose network issues and knowledge of networking basics (On-Prem and Azure).
- Strong knowledge of one or more programming languages (PowerShell/python) with scripting skills.
- Basic system troubleshooting skills and diagnostic methodologies for both hardware and software.
- Good knowledge of monitoring tools on the Cloud platform.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Environment web app and web services.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write reports.
- Basic understanding of RDBMS and database theories, desired.
- Must have certification on Azure or other Cloud platforms.
REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years Cloud Engineer experience required.

- Minimum Highly Effective performance in current role
